Nathan Owens is the Director of Global CONNECT, a public program of UC San Diego Extension that works with clients from around the world on projects related to technology commercialization, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
As Director, Nathan develops customized education and training programs, as well as conducts research and evaluation on regional innovation systems and organizations that support entrepreneurs in high technology industries. In addition to projects in the US and Canada, Nathan has had the pleasure of working with clients from a wide range of countries in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Prior to joining Global CONNECT, Nathan was a research analyst at a Washington, DC consulting firm where he focused on U.S. science and technology policy as well as IT and telecomm market trends. While in Washington, Nathan received his MA from the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University. Nathan also holds a BA in political science from UC San Diego.
